Nazareth PA Balusters

Nazareth PA balusters on landing (before)The home owner originally wanted to replace the broken and mismatched balusters (Top and middle images) for the stair case as well as the railing on the top of the stairs landing. Take note that they also have young children who like to grab on the delicate balusters while playing and may break the repaired ones. The cost to replace and match the existing pine balusters which dated around 1900 would have been very expensive. So the alternative was to replace all the balusters (Bottom two images) with new stronger ones, match the stain and aged shellac look while keeping the existing handrails and box newels. The stairs now has a new mission style look which the home owners love.

“I had a sensitive issue with a large picture window on my turn of the century farm house. Over the years, dry rot and carpenter ants destroyed the framework supporting the window. Mike was able to support the window without removing it, rebuild the framework and insulate the space, and then replace the aluminum siding. It looks great!”
